Best in the West Beans

1/2        pound lean ground beef
8           slices turkey bacon, chopped
1/2        cup chopped onion
2           tablespoons packed brown sugar
2           tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4        cup ketchup
1/4        cup barbecue sauce
2           teaspoons prepared mustard
2           teaspoons molasses
1/2        teaspoon chili powder
1/2        teaspoon black pepper
6           cups cooked* large lima beans or 4 cans butter beans (15 oz. Each), drained

*2 cups dry makes 6 cups cooked

Preheat oven to 350ºF

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown meat; drain. Add bacon and onion, cook until onion is soft, about 5 minutes. In a small bowl combine sugars, ketchup, barbecue sauce, mustard, molasses and seasonings; mix well.

Combine sauce mixture, meat, and beans in 3-quart casserole dish. Cover. Bake 45 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Makes 7 1/2 cups. Serves 6-8.
